Cool news from squirrel-land. We've joined forces with the studio that is producing the Coz 3D movie and created a new studio called Boomstar. You can check out the web site here: [link]

It combines the efforts of our studio here in Texas with the talented guys in India who have been doing awesome work on the 3D Coz/Effect project. My company and their company are now partners in Boomstar which we're really excited about.

Anyways, i hope the Coz animation will make up for all the updates to the comic i missed - you'll get to see these guys moving and talking for the first time ^^

So sorry to everyone that I have an outstanding trade with - I have been unbelievably busy the past 2 months traveling and finishing big pitches to clients at our studio [link]

I promise I'll get back to the trades as soon as I can. Its been over a months since I've been even able to check my messages, deviations, etc. on here so i've got a lot of catching up to do.

Some cool news: at Moujaes, Inc. we've been co-producing a YouTube kids show called "Enzoology" [link] featuring a little kid named Enzo here in Austin. It's been doing really well.

It's picked up some real steam and we got a call from the Ellen DeGeneres Show this week. They flew Enzo out to Los Angeles to do a little segment on her show. Cool, huh?



The show will air this Friday - check your local listings for it.

Thanx for your emails and msgs. about the return of Coz/Effect! See, I told you that I was serious and wanted to put my money where my mouth was to show you.

With that post up, I just wanted to fill you guys in on some of the things I'm working on for the reboot of SW.

My plan really consists of 3 big priorities: 1) A standard update schedule 2) new SW site 3) more cool art and stuff from us at SW.

1. Update Schedule

In the past, because of how long it took to create each page, we typically worked on a quota system for updates - meaning we would strive to hit a certain number of pages per week. Now, I'm changing that for a standard update schedule for both comics. I'm working a predictable schedule as we speak around the client work we do at the studio and will be posting that soon. Right now, I'm thinking you'll be seeing Coz on Mondays and Battlegate on Fridays. We'll see, I'll post that when I can be more certain

2. New SW.com Site

Since 2002, SW grew into a messy collective of comic zones and satellite websites like DA, my sketchbook, etc. The last site design update happened in 2005 that gave the site a slightly updated look that you know now.

We get over 200,000 people a month on the site nowadays, even when updates are slow. I've got plans for a whole new site that wrangles in all the parts of SW into a sleek, easy to use place that integrates pieces like the comic zones, forums, sketchbook, etc. into one cool place. Currently, I'm working on the new site design but this time I'll be hiring a developer to build the site out and make it database-driven. I'm planning a campaign to sell original art, put books on sale, etc. to raise some funds so that we can get a developer to build the site out. More on this soon.

3. More cool stuff from SW

Including regular updates to the comics, sketchbook and DA - will be doing her own web comic that I'm helping her put together that will be featured on the new site. I can't wait to tell you guys more about it when the time is right. We're also planning to do some videos about the work behind our works, etc.
